On April 25th, 1876, the Chicago White Stockings beat the Louisville Grays 4-0 at Louisville Baseball Park.

The Whitestockings went 52-14 in their inaugural 1876 season.

Interesting. Thanks for posting. The Cubbies are my fav NL team and have been for many years. At least you can't call me a bandwagon fan. ;) But, you would be correct if you called me a masochist. :D

The White Sox are my second-favorite team. Ever since I rented the movie Eight Men Out in 1989, I have loved the White Sox. I subsequently became a Black Sox expert, reading numerous books, articles, and watching documentaries on the subject.

My birthday is October 3rd. On my 40th birthday in 2005, I wished that the White Sox would win the World Series when I blew out the candles on my birthday cake. Lo and behold, only a few weeks later, my wish came true ....... the White Sox were world champions for the first time in 88 years. :cool:
