Zach Britton/Manny Machado for David Wright.

Wright is signed through '12 with a club option for '13 so an extension would probably be required. Kind of steep price I know but if they really have a shot at something special I think they may have to go for it. Discuss.

At first glance I don't like that trade idea. It is hard to imagine being in the position of being a "buyer" for contention purposes b/c it has been so long since we have had that need. I do like the David Wright suggestion, just not the package. I need to think more on these trade ideas.

If the O's did this trade I would never watch another Orioles game in my life. And I want Wright.

Machado is the future of this team, along with Bundy and the core of Wieters and the young pitching. No way in a million years he gets traded in a Wright deal. Hell, Britton alone might be enough for Wright.

Pitching is more important than 3B. There are many decent options to upgrade 3B, if necessary, without giving away the likes of Britton and or Machado.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat....If I were the Mets GM. Sure, trade a guy with a hefty salary approaching 30 who has had one decent year in the last three and who has shown injury problems for a pitcher who has shown incredible potential and is under control for six more years (until age 30) and a SS ranked as one of the top prospects in baseball and who is 10 years younger than the guy I would be giving up.

That trade would go down as one of the worst in Os history and would require the immediate termination of DD's contract.

Now, if the Os could get Wright for much less with the Os eating his 2013 contract extension, I would consider it.
