incubus
It's not reviewable.......for some reason I thought the Maier incident was the catalyst for the HR review rule in the first place? That was definately fan interference. If I were Buck, I would have stalled as long as possible to give them time to review that. I thought it was an out with fan interference? I think I remember them saying something to that effect on the Izturis opening day HR.
McNulty
Asses need to be kicked, but that was a totally legal thing the fan did. IMO.
Deanbird
He reached over and topped Avery's glove with his--more egregious than Maier in my book--blocking the flyball out. They do it everywhere and they should be escorted out for this crap.

kaerts111
In Major League Baseball, a system similar to that in the National Hockey League for the last month of the 2008 season and beyond was implemented on August 28, 2008. The system allows instant replay to be used to review boundary home run calls to determine: • fair (home run) or foul • whether the ball actually left the playing field • whether the ball was subject to spectator interference -would be nice to see the replay again
Jagwar
I haven't seen a replay yet that definitively shows Avery's glove and the fan's glove in relation to the LF wall. You can't say it was fan interference without seeing if the fan reached onto the field of play.

Jagwar
Agreed-I am fuming Buck didn't even come out. Neither Avery or Jones reacted in a way that made him think he had to come out and argue.
glenn__davis
Neither Avery or Jones reacted in a way that made him think he had to come out and argue. I don't know - Avery looked pretty ticked the way he stared into the stands.

Camden_yardbird
Can we agree to suspend the rules on foul language for this thread, cause I have some choice words about how that was handled, Buck included.
SteveA
I was pretty much in those exact seats once and I tried to put my glove on top of Ken Griffey Jr's and take a ball away from him. But he caught it anyway. [fine print: it was in batting practice]
Rene88
I don't know - Avery looked pretty ticked the way he stared into the stands. Plus-shouldn't Buck be asking people if he couldn't see it.
Jagwar
Maybe I'm wrong. I thought the fan reached over clearly. Have you seen a replay that proves this? Because the one facing directly at the wall doesn't show it "clearly" at all.
