Those red sox, for as bad as they have been, are right there.

To win the AL East, you can't go dropping a series to a team like KC... Or even Toronto. The formula is simple, winning 2 out of 3 most of the time and 2-4 worst case (with an occasional, yet rare, losing series). I know that is obvious... But it's the truth.

O's can't worry about the standings. They have to get themselves straightened out.

This is how I always look at it. Win your own games, and everything else will take care of itself.

That said, the AL East is a great division and nobody would have been surprised if it produced four teams with winning records. The surprise is that the Orioles are up there. It's going to be hard for any team to run away in a division this good.

Same results as yesterday ...... The Orioles, the Yankees, and the Rays lose, while the Blue Jays and the Red Sox win. It gets yet even tighter, with every team in the division now having a winning record.

With losses by the Orioles and the Rays, and wins by the Blue Jays, the Red Sox, and the Yankees last night, this is probably about as tight as it gets ........ I think. Let's beat the Rays tomorrow and end the 5-game losing streak.

ORIOLES ....... 29 - 22

D-RAYS ...........29 - 22

YANKEES ......o 27 - 23

  • 2 weeks later...
Jays and Sox look to be dropping out of sight. I know it's a long season, but it might encourage them to throw in the towel and be sellers instead of buyers at the deadline.

Well damn, wouldn't the Orioles just love THAT !!! To essentially have at least 3rd place handed to them.:)
