Hamate is not 3/4 weeks. At least not from what I recall. I think the preferred treatment is surgical for baseball players.

I would bring up Avery. May not hit for a good average but he does bring skills to the team.

A couple people suggested trying Reynolds in the OF. It might not be pretty but I'd try it, because I'd rather have Nick Johnson in the lineup than Chavez.

Flaherty should get more playing time.
