That is what Mayo just said on the live show. That may be where he sits as a starter, but it sounded like Mayo was projecting him as a 1 IP relief type where he could put all his energy into pitching a short stint

Something interesting from a Pirates blog. They did a mock draft that had them taking Rutledge in the third. Then had Sickels comment on their selections:

Rutledge is erratic but throws very hard and could be a steal.

It is odd, there are a lot of people saying he throws very hard, then there some that have him in the low 90's.
