Schoop and Machado

Dude is money! Maybe it's not that far-fetched of an idea after all to bring him up and have him play 3rd.

And cue the "experts" in 3...2...1...

Don't sell your ideas short. You don't need to be an expert to know that's a terrible idea.

If prospects were judged in 10 game samples, we'd have had some good prospects over the years.

I'm very happy we have both guys, and I'm definitely satisfied with their 20 y.o. seasons at AA, but they both still need time.

19! Machado's 19 y.o. season! (Technically.)

More than technical so far as I'm concerned. There are a few others who turned 20 late in 2011 (like

Schoop) but at least as of a couple weeks ago, Machado was the only player in the league born in 1992 or later.

Schoop was named to the Eastern League all star team. Machado was not. Britton, Widlansky, Viola and Clark all were selected. Whatever, Machado's in the Futures Game.

Wrong! Not unimportant. I have tickets to the luncheon hoping to meet him right before the game and now he's not going to be there. That's a pure bummer. Although excited to hopefully meet Schoop.

Machado is killing it with obp over .500 and OPS over 1.200 last 10 with 6 xbh, 4 BBs and 3 ks. MM has picked it up a few notches.

Hoes is also killing it - only one K in last 10. Given the lack of productivity of some offensive spots, I think Mr. Hoes deserves a promotion to see what he can do and what he needs to work on to succeed in the majors.

You want Hoes promoted to the Orioles already?

I want to see what happens in July with both Machado and Hoes. I'd leave Hoes where he is for now and let Avery get some regular work up in Baltimore. At the end of July, I could see moving Machado to Norfolk if he has stayed hot. Ditto for Hoes to Baltimore, but only if he has hit well and Avery isn't contributing up in Baltimore.
