Just a hunch. No inside info. No sources. But, if I had to guess, I think DD is going to move these two.

The end of an era? I think so. Do I agree with it? Not really.

You watch these guys come through your system. You pull for them. You check their stats every start. Delmarva, Frederick, Bowie, Rochester/Norfolk. Then, they are finally here. All our hopes. All our dreams. "This is it", we say. The "Calvary" has arrived. Was it fair for Dave Trembley to assign such a label? No. But, he was trying to give fans a glimmer of hope. Something to look forward too, after so many years in an albatross of losing.

Where will they go? Chicago? San Diego?

Who will we get? Chase Headley? Clayton Richard? Edison Volquez? Alfonso Soriano? Matt Garza?

Do I agree with it? Not really. The end of era? I think so.

Peace.

Wait...why exactly would we trade them?

First of all, there's pretty good reason to suspect that these two could raise their trading value CONSIDERABLY by when their time in Baltimore is over.

Also, I'd much rather have either one of these two than Chris Tillman.

I think these guys would both benefit from a change of scenery. I hate to give up on them, but maybe it's a case of things just not clicking here and needing to get a fresh start. It's a shame, because both have very good stuff and I think will prosper elsewhere.

If they do ship them out, I just hope we get something decent back.

Part of me hates watching them pitch. Arrieta, Tillman and Matusz. Britton sometimes too. Because it's all of the hype surrounding them, everything about them that made our farm system great for a couple years. These were the pitchers to make it all turn around and the Orioles wouldn't be a laughing stock anymore. But they haven't; and if you think the 2012 Orioles are no longer a laughing stock, it's barely because of any great success those four are having. They just haven't put anything substantial together to make me say, "Wow, these guys make me proud to be O's fans, to bleed black and orange". I'm disappointed with all of them. So are a lot of people. I'm disappointed because these are four guys that should have lead us to the playoffs 3 years ago. These four can barely stay healthy or effective.

The other part of me watched Adam Jones do the same thing for four years. That low and away breaking pitch he swung at every.single.time. The puzzling negative UZR. The power topping out at 20 home runs. But now look at him; at 26 years old and the best center fielder in baseball. One of the best players. Arrieta, Matusz, Tillman, Britton... all young guys, 25-26 years old. Could they be the next Adam Jones? Could 2013-- nay, post ASG 2012 -- be the time they all break out? Would I be hasty to give up on them or has the Daniel Cabrera experiment shown me that cutting your losses is the best way to do things?
