Its also the pitch he has the lowest strikeout % on. He needs an OUT pitch, not a pitch he can throw for a strike early in the count.

He gets 12.6% whiffs on his CU and 14.2% whiffs (SSS) on his CH. Those are pretty good numbers. Not as good as, say, Hammel's slider (18.2% whiffs) but still not bad.

One of his problems is that he throws a lot of sliders and his slider isn't that good.
