Love DD, Thome is tailor made for Camden Yards and is the kind of cheap pick up that can make a huge difference. I doub't we're giving up much; maybe Mike Wright at most, and if so, that's a worthwhile move.

Thome is an upgrade over Nick Johnson. Probably will be used the same way. Hunter wasn't listed today as apotential SP or RP. Most likely he will be moved to Norfolk at the end of the game. Then who gets moved to make room for Markakis when he comes back? Avery?

I think this is the start of DD wowing us with a flurry of moves to improve the team without giving up much. He won't fleece other teams like AM but I think we're all gonna be surprised at how the 25 man looks in a few weeks.

Looking strictly at the business side of baseball, the O's should jettison Johnson without a second thought.
