Reggie is just saying what lots of other people feel. Puts him in a bind with working for the Yankees now. Laying low for a few weeks is probably the right thing. They cant fire Reggie or the story will just explode.

Palmer has called out Brady Anderson for his 50 homer season a couple of years ago. I wonder if they talk or just pass each other in the hall ways?

Reggie just told it like it is and now A-rod got all bent out of shape. As a team employee it seems strange for him to say that but as a HOFer who did it the right way, I can see why he has that opinion.

There is no way to know if Reggie did it "the right way" and what is "the right way" anyway? Is using Greenies allowed? While I am certainly not accusing him of any wrong doing it is not as if Steroids were not available to players of his generation.

His career was ending as the steroid era was getting started. You got to remember the whole East German swim team stuff was the early mid 70's and Reggie was already playing. Steroids seem to have gotten into football first and baseball last.

If I had to bet the mortagae I would bet it on Reggie being free of steroids his whole career. He holds some grudges after having worked hard as a player to put up statistics and get into the hall of fame and doesnt want a bunch of cheaters taking shortcuts getting in there with him. I understand.

Like I said, I wasn't accusing, and put a gun to my head I will guess that he abused Amphetamines but not Steroids. My point stands, you shouldn't make blanket statements about folks doing it "the right way" when there is so much evidence of athletes in every sport cheating when given the opportunity.

There is not a doubt in my mind that there are numerous folks in the HoF that used Steroids.

Can we stop the "steroids are to greenies, as apples are to apples" argument?

Not until the other side stops the Steroids are to Greenies like Bionics are to sweet tarts.

That side is much closer to being accurate. They help make regular guys like Steve Austin better than they were before. They do.

I'm not really sure I understand what you're getting at here. What do you believe greenies do for athletes?

Greenies do for athletes what Ritalin does for some folk. What it was mostly used for, however, was keeping Mickey Mantle's eyes open until the game was over. Because he never made it in last night. He was out with Billy.
