I felt the umpire had a high strike zone today. If he calls those low strikes, Britton gets a lot more action on the ball a lot more ground balls and strikeouts. Plus not turning the double play in the fourth inning cost him an inning, just killed him tonight. Defense is just abysmal lately. Still cannot give out that many walks.

stop the madness. Britton has absolutely no one to blame but himself. The strike zone has been decently called all night long.

I loathe when O's fans make excuses for our terrible pitching by blaming the umps. He walked guys with a 3 run lead, period.

ENOUGH of this talk. Seriously, the umps are not the issue here.

I've never complained about an umpire before. Just making a simple observation. Britton with his two seam fastball normally lives in the low end of the strike zone. Still cannot issue that many walks and win a game.

Pretty smart postgame comments by Zach. Still encouraged by his outing in general, his stuff was really good and his breaking ball was better than I've seen it. His command obviously was not good but he was missing low, as I noted in the game thread, and as a result no one really made any good contact on him. However, he totally lost his control in the 4th...and, well, even if you're missing low when you're walking more than a batter an inning you're not going to have success.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he and Tillman can do over a large sample size until the end of the season. Britton's stuff was a lot better than I expected.

Shoulda got his ground ball/ fly ball numbers from the game in that post somewhere.

Filthy outing from Zach tonight. Got himself into a little bind but K'd his way out of it. Great to see.

Well, you know how it is with fans like me ........ lazy, half-steppers that don't truly invest their time and emotion to the team. :)
