Chris Gomez signs with the Pirates

Gomez signed a one-year contract for $1 million. Its good to see him sign somewhere and he will probably get a decent ammount of playing time as he figures to be the backup for each infield position.

Absolutely! I wish nothing but the best for Chris. He's a great utility player and seems like a good guy, its a shame he doesn't really fit our needs anymore. Maybe he can get traded to another contender midseason (and actually win this time)!

I really like Gomez so I am happy that he signed for my second favorite team. Knowing the team I would expect that he will be the backup for 2nd, 3rd, and SS for the most part. If they don't get a 3rd baseman I could see him getting more time at 3rd as they are not too happy with former Oriole Jose Bautista
