How big of a deal is this?

Baseball players (athletes for that matter) have always looked for a way to gain an edge. Steriods, vaseline, spit, cork, etc. I don't think steriods are right, but honestly how big of a difference has it made? Most of the players named are scrubs....if steriods were the key to success, why wasn't Howie Clark an MVP? Why didn't Jerry Hairston ever make it? Why didn't Rondell White ever reach his potential? What I'm saying is, while they are banned and shouldn't be used, steriods, HGH don't make a big difference in stats, just in the recovery process from injury. Anyone here agree/disagree?
