This morning on "Remember when" on XM they opened the show talking about the A's/Redsux game and how even though the Sux lost they didn't lose any groung to the MFY who lost. No mention on how well the O's or A's for that fact have been playing only the Sux and MFY. Now I don't just want to see the O's win the division, I want the MFY to miss the playoffs all togethor.

This has got to be the funniest thing I've seen on OH, maybe the entire web.

Congratulations, you've won the Internet!

Thank you, thank you. I'd like to thank my boss for not looking over my shoulder every minute I'm at work, my ADHD, my web manipulation skills, and most importantly my unhealthy (well, to those who aren't on the OH) obsession with the Baltimore Orioles. I couldn't have done it without all of these things. This thing is going on my mantle!!!

Per ESPN:

The Commissioner of baseball Bud Selig has just announced along with the 2013 schedule, that in the event New York misses the play offs, they will play a 7 game series against Boston. The winner will represent the AL in the World Series.

The winner of the AL Championship series will then become the " undisputed" third best team in baseball.

The Commissioner would like for all AL fans to jump on board eith the new playoff format. He said "we are not doing this to penalize a particular franchise, but we are doing this to keep the financial side of the game in tact".

Orioles - Nationals To Square Off In Beltway World Series

Fox Sports moves World Series broadcasts to the Fox Soccer Channel

Fox Sports today announced that it will listen to the millions of tweets received from baseball fans and will show reruns of 2004 Yankees - Red Sox World Series on Fox Sports Channel during the 2012 World Series. According to Fox executive vice president, Larry Jones, the actual World Series has been moved to a channel more suitable for the limited interest level of a Washington - Baltimore series.

"We heard the voices of baseball fans across the nation," said Jones. "People want to watch real baseball and we're going to give it to them. The 2004 Yankees - Red Sox games were classic in the annuls of major league history.?"

In other announcements, the MLB Network announced that in lieu of World Series coverage, they will broadcast programming previously scheduled on Fox Soccer. Also, ESPN has elected to forgo the last week of Baseball Tonight. Time slots will be filled with reruns of NFL Live.

I'm surprised ESPN hasn't released an "ESPN 4: NFL LIVE" channel similar to ESPNews.

Yeah I've been waiting for the launch of ESPNFL for a long time now. Especially once the NFL Network launched.

Honestly, ESPN is terrible (newsflash, LOL). Which is a shame, because it was so good years ago, when it was ahead of its time. I never went a day w/o catching Sportscenter back then; now I couldn't tell you the last time I watched it. The only time I even tune in is during a live event - Ravens on MNF, or to watch college basketball, something like that.

    • Yeah, the limited IP so far is small.  But it feels like he's not at the right level of competition. Of course it's also as much competing against himself (pitch shape, location, etc. that the team tracks) as against the hitters too.  Like you mentioned elsewhere, he's younger than DeLeon.
    • I think they’d go with 4 lefties before sending Akin to AAA. If everyone is healthy: SP: Burnes, Grayson, Bradish, Kremer, Means/Irvin RP: Kimbrel, Cano, Coulombe, Perez, Akin, Suárez, Webb/Baumann, Irvin/Means Option: Wells, Tate DFA: Ramirez, Baumann/Webb And then if they want Wells, they either DFA the other of Webb/Baumann or option Akin.  They also have the ability to option Kremer, but he’s really have to pitch poorly for that to happen.
    • With Cowser hitting lefties ok so far, not a lot of reason for McKenna. Mateo has already played CF once as well, so they are covered down with defense in CF and Kjerstad brings a much better bat.
    • The guys been part of the team for a few years now at this point, do you really think his name is Brian?  Hell I'm guessing the story you linked mentioned his first name at least once.   Also who cares what Roch thinks?  If McKenna was coming back up, he would have a couple days ago instead of 'Silent J'.
    • Not his sharpest outing today. Pretty pitch-inefficient. Gave up a series of pretty soft hits. Able to grind thru 4 innings (I assume his day is done) w/ solid results: 7 K, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 R, 86 pitches    Edit: came back out to get 2 outs in the 5th. 94 pitch outing.
    • Not just WS contenders, but most Playoff contenders will be looking for bullpen upgrades as the deadline nears....if we're being honest with ourselves, if 70% of the teams have a shot at the playoffs, and the other 30% only have a handful (combined) of quality arms they might consider dealing, we should expect to have to pay a Kings Ransom to outbid those that are competing with us for the talent.  And, therein lies the problem.....we won't get a fair and reasonable deal by Hangout standards, it will have to be an overpay, or we settle for another Flaherty type.  That's just the reality folks. My point  being, be prepared to be disappointed that we had to give up too much, or we didn't get who we really wanted.
