I hear you. When I've gone on STUB-HUB, I've actually gotten tickets for as cheap as 50 cents for games at Yankee Stadium when the Orioles were in town.

Now that the Orioles are a considerably better team, they are up to about 5 or 6 bucks over there now.

I've been to 3 games at Yankees Stadium this year, going to 2 more this weekend. I paid less for all 5 combined (including taking my girlfriend to 3 of them) than one ticket to one of the 3 games I've seen in Camden this year.

All I know is I wouldnt miss many if I lived there.

Theres a guy who wears sunglasses and an orange tie at nearly every game.(halfway from home to first) I think he doesnt miss a game.Id be like him.Without the tie.

I see him too. I wonder if he posts here. He wears his sunglasses at night, that's for sure.

Why is anyone offended? If you go to the games, he's not talking to you. If you live 3 hours away or don't have the cash, he's not talking to you either...

Do you realize how many people live in the Baltimore Metro area, not to mention the fans on the Maryland side of DC...

You all realize that the O's weren't this good from the day OPACY opened until the 1995 season right? So for years every single game was sold out, bad games and all...and many of those people were the ones who worked downtown and went to the game before going home.

Adam is calling out the casual fans...not you (anyone reading this on OH)...and to be honest, I think it's great.

Well screw the casual fans.

They've been winning all season. The players have held up their end of the bargain, so why is it so unreasonable to expect the fans to reciprocate and support them during the run-up to the playoffs?

After 14 years of the crap this fan base has had to endure, 3/4 of a season isn't going to bring everyone back. And given how some of these 14 years have ended I am not taking for 82 wins for granted. Thus, go win something.

I like Jones and I plan on going to a couple more games but this kinda of stuff is better left untwittered.

How about finding us an economy not DESTROYED by BO & his dem buddies? Maybe then hard working family men can enjoy a night of leisurely spending instead of worrying about affording groceries. Baltimore is blue collar. We've been hit hard by this joke of an economy.

Adam can cash his 85 million dollars and stick it where the sun don't shine. Close your Twitter account, jackass.

Kinda funny your handle is that of an extinct bird...because you know...

I alreadyy have tix for the 30th and have decided to also go on the 13th....

It is gonna take time for fans to believe I am pretty sure everyone including most of us are just holding our breathe to see if we go on a ten game skid..... keep winning and the fans will come. I for sure have been tuning in far more then ever.

Good for you!

Dedicated fans don't think of excuses and will find ways to make it to OPACY.

As to excuses, tell the bank when the foreclosure comes, tell the repo man when he comes for your car, or the electric/cable/phone company's send you the cut off notices, that you had to go see the Orioles play. See how far that gets you.

i went last night, and it kills me how the fans really aren't into the game.

There is no reason the crowd shouldn't be filled to the brims with 20-30 year old goons cheering loud. the fans need an education lesson on how to follow the game intensely.

and to the oriole "fans" who won't go as a boycott to Angelos, well I don't think very much of them.

How about, as a group, we pick an upcoming game and meetup outside the stadium and buy some tickets? You can't afford to go, i'll buy a ticket or two for someone that really wants to go but can't make ends meet. If you really want to make it out there but can t financially, I can spare a few bucks.

Instead of complaining in thread after thread, on radio show after radio show....let's do something about it.

Weekday series vs tb coming up. Could be a perfect time to do this. If we get a few people that say they'd buy a ticket for someone else, another die hard fan, we could have a little impact and help the people that are feeling 'attacked' by getting them out there.

    • I find it hard to be mad at him for not being a great 2B when he's being forced there due to the silly Holliday decision. And Mateo barely played 2B in spring. So it's hard not to expect him to kinda suck over there, but that's not really his fault. I expect we'll see similar things when they put him in the OF. The O's want to desperately make him a super utility guy, but he's really just a SS. We'll see.
    • Developed?  So the Elias regime gets no credit/blame for anything he's done as a hitter?
    • C'mon.  The dude has shown that he can go on insane heaters, but he's also going to cancel that out by being an automatic out at the plate for a few months.  I'll give you that he's exciting on the bases, but his defense isn't what it was 2 years ago.  I don't know if that's because he's regressing as a player or if he needs the steady playing time to get in a groove, but when you're talking about "baked in value" that's taking things a bit far when he put up .5 fWAR last year.   I know you're head over heels with anyone that puts on an Orioles uniform but there's so much about Mateo that's just...frustrating.  And also replaceable.  And I LIKE Mateo, he's one of my favorite bad Orioles of all time, he seems like a great teammate, clubhouse guy but there's not much value here, other than he can stand at some different positions on defense and steal a base if he gets on base...which is a monumental task for him at times.
    • Well, there are plenty of good ML hitters who don't crack the .800 OPS mark, which is just an arbitrary threshold anyway. What I meant was just that he's a quality ML bat who knows how to hit and passes the eye test of a solid MLer. He's a guy you didn't realize you miss when he's not in the lineup, and we sort of take him for granted simply because we're foaming at the mouth for Coby Mayo, understandably.  I much rather go by OPS+. Mounty is at 114, so 14% above average. You'd like it to be higher for a 1B, sure, but he also brings other skills like being decently fast, a good defender, and a knack for murdering the Blue Jays. If Mounty had stuck at 3B, we're probably not complaining as much about him.  Let's compare him to someone like Trey Mancini, who had 2 seasons that can be described as better than any of Mounty's full seasons, but then completely fell off a cliff. I'll take Mounty's steady brand of "I wish he was slightly better but I'll take it" production. He's a solid player.
    • Things to take into consideration when evaluating Mounty, - Vertigo - The Wall - Drafted and developed under a different regime.  - He’s only 12 months older than Adley.  Meaning he can grow into being a more “professional hitter”. Who knows how much the vertigo affected him?  Who knows how much the Wall got into his head?  How much does the current coaching staff/analytics dept help him compared to previously.
    • He certainly made the 8th inning more exciting.
    • Well if Mateo is playing he has to be playing the field. That’s part of his baked in value. He can give multiple players rest at DH while he plays whatever position in the field. You need that rest over 162. The dude is so exciting to watch. You just can’t get heartbroken and start falsely hoping he turns into Alfonso Soriano 2.0.
