First thread start here, hope the link works.

Looks like at least one Yankeephile has seen the writing on the wall regarding the current state of the pinstripers. In short, "We are collapsing... right as the new Collective Bargaining Agreement takes effect..." After losing the AL East to the O's and actually missing a playoff berth altogether, the author predicts Cashman will leave, Girardi will get canned and a lot of turnover shakes out for the roster. Gazing through the prism of the new CBA (designed to crush the Ys) the author concludes, "It's 1984. We may be down for a long, long time."

How sweet it is in the Charm City. Driving the proverbial nail through the prima donna MFYs run of success would certainly enhance the joy of the Os return to prominence. Keep it rolling Birds.

Well, the 2011 Orioles did this to the Red Sox. Why can't the 2012 Os do it to the Yankees? Oriole Domination of the Decade!

Hey Weams, I'm definitely with you on that one. Fans of both teams could use a strong dose of humility. I really thought the W-L record would have reflected more last year ..... to me AM accepted one of the two most challenging positions around when he came on board and really had to start from scratch to reverse the inertia of the organization and lay the foundation for a successful, modern, MLB franchise. In retrospect, the close to '11 was the only visible representation of the shift begun by AM and accelerated by Buck. This year the Os are beginning to reap a hopefully long, sweet harvest. This is a good thing......(working on my ability to understate there:)

Out of curiosity, I checked on the MFY's historical W-L records:

Have to appreciate all of the "crooked numbers" from '82 to '92 in the "place" column.

Also - been checking in on OH for a while, love the Fab Four avatar. Thanks for the kind response on the Bobby V. appreciation thread.

If only we could do something about those Rays...

Every truly memorable champion has a worthy foil. The Rays have enjoyed more success to date than their fans have earned. Practicing the art of zen and accepting their role as the "close but no cigar" team of the decade could prove highly beneficial for the Rays along their path to enlightenment under Joe Maddon.

Replace the whipped cream with, say, Christina Hendricks and then one might have close run contest. In my own humble opinion, of course.

Edited to add: Errr, in reply to above post by Gurgi.

Yankees dynasty crushed for a generation or Kate Upton and Christina Hendricks? That is the choices?

Wow that is a tough.
