Who is the best Braves third baseman, Mathews or Chipper? Its close. Mathews ahead on WAR but played against somewhat easier competition. Chipper probably a little better bat, Mathews a better glove. Mathews a bonus point or two for being the only Brave to play in Boston, Milwaukee, and Atlanta.

I'm at the point where I wouldn't be surprised to hear anyone's name come up, whether it's Chipper, Cal, Tony Gwynn, Santa Claus, Nelson Mandela, or Betty White. I don't actually think any of them cheated but if someone came forward with evidence to the contrary I'd be less shocked and amazed and more, gee, guess I gotta cross a few more heroes off my list. Ladewski is a hack, though.

Now that Brooks Robinson... I have it on good authority he kept a black hole in his glove.

His glove had to have been on roids. You don't win all those Gold Gloves without some kind of "assistance."
