So, Josh Hamilton might've played his last game as a Ranger last night...

Did you see Matusz blow three straight fastballs by him?

One at bat, small sample size, whatever ... that's not a $25+ million per year player.

Oh, I saw it. Personally, I'm hoping his performance as of late has lowered his demands some. Heh.

There were reports earlier this year that the O's might go after him hard this coming offseason. If true, how far would you go in years/money.

Or would you avoid him with a ten foot pole. Thoughts!?

Where did you see these "reports"? There has been a lot of discussion here, but I wouldn't consider that a "report". I was big on going after Hamilton, but after seeing his play these last several weeks of the season I am disenchanted. Something seems very wrong with his play, as if he is disinterested. I'd stick with McLouth and spend my money, if I am allowed any, on a TOR SP.

I believe Ken Rosenthal wrote about it in one of his articles earlier this season on FoxSports. I'll see if I can track it down.

Edit: Correction, it was Buster Olney. My bad.

This was from an article back in June. Of course, a lot has changed since then.

I know it got mentioned on the broadcast last night, but I'm really disappointed in Texas fans taking their frustration over the team out on Hamilton. It came off as really classless to me. Not as classless as, say, throwing garbage on the field during one of your greatest player's final game... but still, pretty awful.

I'm happy with Reimold and McLouth in LF/4th OF to start next year with Avery and Hoes at AAA (yes, I know this means we need to resign McLouth).

If we are going to spend a bunch of money, it should be on tier-1 or tier-2 starting pitchers. Edwin Jackson, Peavy depending on health, Greinke, etc.

I'd rather save this year's FA money for a run at Cano next offseason.
