Their interest is real, but are we interested in what they have? I can't imagine trading them Bedard without getting Hill back, and I can't imagine them trading Hill.

Yeah my guy (who is a huge cubs fan himself) and I both agreed that the Cubs would have to gut farm system to acquire both. My guess Andy is trying to drive up price with the ,M's and Reds. But Like BB said MacPhail knows Cubs prospects the best.

Agreed. The best of the non-Bruce prospects, and an A-list catcher who has much more value than many here credit him with.

Would love to have Morrow (who also seems oddly undervalued) but one more decent prospect would do it for me.

Well, we're all allowed our beefs with others. Don't mean to imply otherwise.

I've got no problem with anything MacPhail's done so far. And - handcuffed by Angelos or not - a ton of problems with how the club was constructed under the Duquette/Flanagan watch.

I think we'd all be very disappointed with a Cubs trade. That's MacPhail taking the easy way out, not listening to Joe Jordan and his scouts.

I like a Pie, Colvin, Gallagher, Veal, EPat, Cedeno, and Ceda for Bedard/Brob. That would give us a nice quantity of players, but really I love Jones and Clement, and would do the M's deal if we could get back Butler or Tillman.
