Swisher's ego couldn't fit in any other city other than NY.

~230 PA of a .777 OPS following two straight years of a ~.300 wOBA and a failure to secure a starting job? That does not warrant a multi-year commitment or big dollars.

One could make the argument that the Orioles are somewhat indebted to McLouth for his play down the stretch in a pennant race, but McLouth is at least equally indebted to the Baltimore for resuscitating his career.

Something like 1/3 with incentives bumping to 5 and a 5 MM club option for 2014 sounds good. I think the potential 3-4 WAR ceiling brings good value for the Orioles, but 2 solid months don't warrant a big payday. If the Orioles don't call him up in the second half, he's looking at a minor league deal in 2013.

I sure wish we knew what a year of Nolan would look like. It's entirely impossible to know.

Exactly, which is why you can't have him as your starter going into the year with noone behind him. Endy Chavez is not a good enough backup to Reimold if you want Reimold to start the year for you.

I think Nate McLouth is the perfect platoon player to pair with Reimold or whoever we might sign as a RH hitting counterpart. He can also play CF whenever the Orioles play the Yankees since they now know they can neutralize Adam Jones' bat because he will swing at any pitch within a 3 ft vicinity of home plate. I think McClouth might come at a very reasonable price.

That's probably closer to the truth, but you never know what some team is going to do. A 111 OPS+ for a guy with average at worst defense in LF and a lot of speed is pretty valuable. I wouldn't be surprised to see a team offer him 2 guaranteed years.

Some team might but it won't be for 10 million per.

Nick can be the #2 hitter. It would be nice to have a little speed on the team and the O's and McLouth are a perfect fit for one another. We'll have to see what kind of market there is out there for him.

I would like to see if Nick can continue to put up a .390 OBP from the leadoff spot.
