So they do need a shortstop. I will take Hardy cross-country, Midnight Run style, and make this happen. Maybe they're just stupid enough. (And I love Hardy)

Apparently he's at least partially "fallen out of favor" in Arizona and is in trade discussions. He's sick. I want him.

Not sure I want him if he's sick. Might be contagious.

I don't know, some of our players could benefit from breaking out.

Yeah?

YEAH!?

I am a god of jokes.

Yeah, I just saw this on MLBTradeRumors and I'm surprised. If they're looking to move him, I'm listening.

If I was DD I wouldn't be listening, I would be talking. If I could get him for less then Hardy + Schoop I would be interested.

Uh, yes.

Start with Kevin Gausman, Jonathan Schoop and Tillman.

Uh, no.

Not gonna get him without giving up one of Bundy or Gausman or Machado.

They are down on him. The three players you listed were drafted recently at a comparable level and have given no reason for anyone to be down on them. If AZ is actually looking to move him it will be for less then B-G-M.

Hopefully Schoop + Hardy + a check for Hardy's contract would get it done. Probably a fair trade.

2 of those three are better than Bauer.

And that means they'll be expecting worse?

The MLBTR thread comments are all looking at Texas to trade at least Olt, Profar or Andrus. Those are the types of deals we would have to beat. Arizona doesn't HAVE to trade him, from the sound of it they're just fielding offers. A 30 year-old shortstop plus minor parts that we can afford to lose (yes, that is what Schoop looks like to every other team) isn't going to get the deal done when other teams are willing to offer real, young talent.
