The Yanks are sticking to staying under $189 million and it means letting players like Martin walk if the price is too high. I like the new CBA forcing the Yanks to be cheap and make hard choices like so many other clubs have had to do for so long.

So who's going to catch for the Yankees next year? MLBTR says they're not going to sign Napoli or Pierzynski. Are they really going to stick with Francisco Cervelli and Chris Stewart?

If they weren't willing to resign Martin,I highly doubt they'll go after AJ,especially with the steroid whispers. As for hurting the Yankees..he handled the pitchers well but his bat..yikes!

Not a huge fan of the signing for the Pirates. I just don't think Martin is really much different than Barajas. For the record I think the yankees sign and somehow rehabilitate the career of geovanny soto should he be released.

Pierzynski deserves the Most Hated Player in MLB Award. As Ozzie Guillen once said of him, "If you play against him, you hate him. If you play with him, you hate him a little less."

Martin had his moments offensively but losing him to Pittsburgh is not like losing a Bill Dickey or Yogi Berra.
