Pretty reasonable numbers IMO, about 17.4 a year through his age 37 season.

The negotiations are over, the deal is done, and David Wright will likely remain a Met for life.

Wright will accept a seven-year contract extension worth $122 million WFAN reported early Friday morning. An official announcement is expected later Friday.

After two months of haggling that recently intensified, the Mets have locked up the face of their franchise for the next eight years -- he still has one year remaining at $16 million before the extension begins. The Daily News first reported on its website Tuesday that the Mets had offered Wright a 7-year extension at approximately $18 million per year.

Major league officials familiar with the deal told The News that the proposed extension was backloaded with a structure similar to the contract Jose Reyes got from the Marlins last winter.

8/138, now. It keeps going up.

How about we just say "The Mets have signed David Wright for a lot of money, for a lot of years." :laughlol:

They get to 8/138 when they add in the $16M option he already had for 2013. The $122M extension starts in 2014.
