Posturing. No team is out right now as his market continues to drop in regards to # of years on the contract. It's like NFL draft time, if they're talking, their either lying or trying to create misdirections. I don't think they'll get Hamilton but I very much think they are still in.

I think back to the Red Sox, Nats and Orioles being in a dead heat for Tex .... and then suddenly another team lying in the weeds appears.

It's difficult to take the media seriously sometimes, the circus that it is.

Instead of listing which teams are in on Josh Hamilton, let's talk about who's out.

The Baltimore Orioles have been mentioned as a possible stealth candidate in the Hamilton sweepstakes, but that won't happen, reports Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun.

GM Dan Duquette told reporters Sunday night that he is looking for a power bat, but that would likely come via a trade. Any free agent signings are likely to be "complements" to the current roster, so that rules out Hamilton.

We do know that Hamilton is watching the process up close and personal. Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports reported on MLB Network Monday morning that Hamilton has checked in to Nashville's Opryland Hotel.

ESPN Insider is basically recycled and rehashed stories or pieces of stories that have already been published through other venues and writers that ESPN forces you to pay a monthly fee in order to view. Unless it's Buster Olney, and even that's being generous, don't ever buy into anything that comes from Insider. Not saying the O's are in on Hamilton, but just don't listen to EI.

I think it's safe to say the O's will not be in play unless Hamilton is looking for a 2 to 3 year deal. If that's where he falls to, then the O's will be part of the mix. Outside of that we can move on from this topic altogether.

Is Angelos so ******* cheap that they can't sign a power bat and keep guys instead of trading just to trade and save cash? Seriously?

Adam Jones and Nick Markakis say Hi!

Dan Duquette "We can use a middle of the order bat I don't know if it will be Josh" MLBN Hotstove, Doesn't exactly sound as if the O's are out

Nicks got a new contract?

Anyway, keeping your own is nothing special to behold. every team resigns a player or two of their own of significance over time.
