So my question to you is why continue complaining about us not getting Hamilton. The O's may have offered 5/125 and Hamilton said he wanted more. We don't know.

Who's complaining? I'm just getting a little ired of the "Blank Check" comment's. When i've never said that, but we get grouped together. I said all along IF Hamlton did end up signig for a or 4 year deal, at or around 25M per, then I would be upset if the interest wasn't there.

I didn't quote you saying blank check. I was talking to OG and you commented on it.

We have all seen reports that Hamilton wants what...7 years around $100 million+? I wouldn''t see the O's offering 7 years or that amount of cash. They would probably do something between 3 or 4 years in the range of $45-60 million, but i'm sure Hamilton qould bypass and look for a bigger deal and only take something like that if it became the leading offer(which I don't forsee, someones gunna take a chance on him, they always do)

I haven't seen any reports that Hamilton is asking 7/$100. I actually think that he would have a good chance to get that. What I've seen is that he was asking for 7/$175.

And honestly, i'm ok with them not getting Hamilton. I'd rather overpay for Grienke, and trade for Butler or Upton. I just want some of these holes filled, with a little more then clearance rack quality. Doesn't have to be an AS at them all. But, upgrade with a proven player somewhere.

We are all in the same boat as you are.

Free agency is a mug's game, we are almost done with Roberts' 4 year $40 million debacle, which he started at age 32, so let's give 4+ years and WAY more money to another 32 year old, this time a guy who spents lots and lots of time doing lots and lots of drugs that weren't pot.

Anyone wanna take bets if Hamilton's landing spot regrets at least one year of that deal? I'd rather spend $25 million upgrading Dempsey's restaurant or putting a giant Oriole home run statue of horrors in center field.

Seriously, does anybody honesty believe we were making a serious bid at Hamilton? Same ole same ole every year. The team pretends to make a run at a named free agent, in order to tell the fans, well, we tried.

Except that the Orioles usually don't pretend they are going after any of the big names, it's all speculation from guys in the national media (rarely the local media, who know better) or posters here who refuse to acknowledge that the GM is not kidding when he says we won't be pursuing Player X. Duquette hasn't said a word this year that would suggest he would pursue Hamilton.
