Seriously, does anybody honesty believe we were making a serious bid at Hamilton? Same ole same ole every year. The team pretends to make a run at a named free agent, in order to tell the fans, well, we tried.

We had a ton of things go right for us last year. if the O's are banking on us winning again, with the same team, they will finish under .500 and in 4th or 5th place.

This is the 1st year in many that we could actually attract players to come here. If they blow this, it will be right back to where we were befor elast year, and noone will want to come here because they will know that we are very close, if we addedome key pieces but we were tooo cheap to go get anyone. That will send the red flags up for sure.

He may have his issues, but the guy has earned what he's seeking. Why stop him? Jayson Werth sure as hell wasnt worth near what he got. Baseball has a lot of assinine contracts, to boot it's not my money so I don't care too badly if rich owners get screwed on a bad contract or two. They're not hurting for money.

Problem is when our owner gets burnt he won't go anywhere near the fire again.

That totals 191 million in 3 players. That's NOT cheap.

That completely inaccurate. Angelos has 191 million tied up in Jones, Markakis, and Roberts. Not to mention he gave Hardy close to 30 million.

Angelos isn't as cheap as what people think. He just doesn't throw around money (LAD, NYY, and BOS) like it grows on trees.

No but he is bringing up issues from 12 years ago. I really believe that PA has given DD and Buck almost full authority to do what needs to be done. I think MacPhail had a lot more rope then people believed. Spending a ton of money on these free agents just isn't a smart thing to do unless you're the Yankees.
