Why wouldn't you like it??? Obviously their owner doesn't care about spending money or making trades. Went and got Gio last year. Signed Werth, then Haren, now this! I'd be estatic.

Allocation of resources is only an issue if you need to worry about allocating. They are free spending.

Yeah, while that seems like a crazy amount to spend on a reliever that likely won't be their closer, their overall payroll seems to be in pretty decent shape - in spite of sharp criticisms they've taken over the past 2 years. And they're like... really talented.

Yeah, I guess this makes sense. I just don't see him as being worth that much and a first rounder. Especially to a team that probably did not have that much of a need for him in the first place. Even if they do deal someone, which I assume is in the works, that much cash and a pick for Soriano is surprising...to me at least.
