We are getting the top 3 of Oakland’s rotation. We haven’t seen Stripling or Blackburn since 2022. Somehow, Sears has started 4 games against us the last two years, and we hit him pretty hard last year. Their offense is quite anemic at 2.84 runs per game. Odds are their pitchers will really need to shut us down to beat us. But their bullpen is certainly capable of shutting down an opponent, with a collective 3.15 ERA. -

Just curious - How much of OAK have you watched this year? Blackburn and Sears (the 2 best A’s pitchers who we will see both of in our series) are no easy shakes. -

What were you hoping for 17-7? I guess we could have won that finale of the series against the Pirates. I’m sure you know this already but 16-8 is exactly averaging taking 2 out of every 3. -

The real odd part about Roch's piece is that McKenna mentions that he's friends with Kjerstad "he's one of the players I'm closest to in the minors" and when Kjerstad gets the call that he's going to the majors McKenna is standing next to him and he doesn't tell him, he just says I have to catch a flight to California, that is so weird. -

It would be fantastic if Povich can step up and be effective. With the nature of starting pitching in today's game you need more than five guys you can rely on as starters over the course of a season. Bradish, Means and Povich could potentially negate the need to trade for a starting pitcher and allow Elias to focus on getting a high end reliever. -
Yes, but just a one year. He'll be free again after the season. -
Pretty sure he became a free agent when he was non-tendered last fall. He's playing on an MiLB contract.
