1 million base, up to 3 million with incentives according to ESPN. Not a bad deal for the Padres, if he's ready by May like they have been claiming...

I certainly wish him well and hope he succeeds, but last time he pitched he was really pathetic.

With the salaries these days, I guess the Padres have nothing to lose.

What an excellent low-risk, potential high reward move. The hometown discount helped reel him in for that coin I am sure. Both sides (Prior and SD) have to like the high-end of the equation if it all goes well.

Makes a lot more sense than Wood's deal. But I wouldn't count on Prior ever pitching in the majors again.
