The Blue Jays lost again today.

Since their 11-game winning streak last month, the Blue Jays have gone 7-15, and have fallen back to 13 games behind first-place Boston (the Red Sox game with the Yankees today pending.)

Ok. Pack it in Blue Jays. You are officially done. After all that fanfare.

A 14-5 loss to the Dodgers tonight.

0-4 since the All-Star break, and 4-12 in their last 16 games.

That 11-game winning streak was only a month ago, but it must seem like half a season ago to the Blue Jays and their fans.

Mark Buehrle has been on fire.

That's 4 consecutive excellent outings.

In that span, he has allowed only 4 runs in 28.67 innings, for an E.R.A. of 1.26.

Also in that span, he has lowered his overall E.R.A. by more than half a run, from 4.43 to 3.92

MARK BUEHRLE O (vs. ROYALS, 8/30)

BB:. 1 *

SO:. 5

Pitches: 99 (63 Strikes, 36 Balls)

2013 ERA: 3.92

* Buehrle also had 1 hit batsman.

2013 Blue Jays are the 2012 Marlins. Hell, they've got half the same damn players anyways.

I'm far more worried about the Rays. If Longoria stays healthy, Jennings and Moore progress even a little bit, and Myers comes up and is even 70% of what's advertised, they are going to roll heads.

Just bumping to pat myself on the back a bit. This was from April 2nd.

Dickey had an amazing ratio for first-strike pitches (23 first-strike pitches out of the 26 batters that he faced.)

Ditto for his strikes-to-balls ratio (75 Strikes, 26 Balls.)

He retired 15 out of the final 16 batters that he faced, and the only base-runner that he allowed in that span (a single by Mark Reynolds) was erased by a double play, so he faced the minimum number of batters over his final 5.33 innings.
