No ifs, ands or buts about it, Markakis told The Baltimore Sun. These guys are big boys; they can make decisions. If I go out there and rob a convenience store, I know the consequences that are coming with it. We are all adults here.

These guys that are doing performance-enhancing drugs are taking away from a lot of other people that are doing it the right way. They are taking opportunities away and they are basically stealing, Markakis said. Stealing money away from owners because they are basically purchasing damaged products. It's not a good situation all the way around. And all of us that have done it the right way, we are going to suffer and have to answer questions about this for a while now. I think that puts us in bad situations that we don't deserve to be in.

I agree the penalties should be stiffer, a lot stiffer!

That wouldn't really fit with Markakis' robbing a convenience store analogy since it wasn't breaking any rules.

They still weren't 'legal.' They just didn't test (yet) when Roberts did it.

Yeah! I mean imagine that, if a guy got a big contract and then his production fell off the planet! It's practically stealing!

If the stats that produced the contract were gotten from using PEDS. That production isn't real. It's artificially enhanced and unsubstanible without continuing to use them. That is stealing.

Not really surprised but still mildly surprised how adamant Nick is in this! Mad as haell and he's not going to take it anymore! GOOD for Nick! Hope others speak up as well.

Markakis has had below average HR/FB rates for his career, but now he's well below average this season. GB/FB rate is up. Meaning more ground balls. OBP is down. The arm isn't really there anymore and the speed is gone.

He's still not striking out and he's still a polished player in every facet. He's still a max effort guy who gives it all he's got, but what happened to his physical skillset? Where is the power, arm and speed? It just vanished for no reason.

I don't get it.

I suspect there are many things you don't get....guh....

Dan Meyer obviously felt like he was personally affected by others using PED's.
