Kevin Gausman Today, 2013

Yeah, this was good to read. Like he said, he's still learning how to pitch and he isn't even fully stretched out yet. O's have sorta yanked him around this year, but he just needs to keep pitching and he'll be alright.

Look at it this way, he has traveled with the big league team, and now sees the major difference between it and the minors, which should motivate him to do what needs to be done, to get back to the big leagues.

A 68 pitch outing. O's messed with his development this year.
Was the short outing from still being stretched out or something else....

He must have been on a seventy pitch count to stretch him back out.

Oh well. He'll get over it.

Thanks. Glad that is all it is. Plus this means he should have plenty of innings left late in the year, in case we need them up here.

2 runs allowed in the 4th inning.

In his last outing, he had 5 shutout innings, but this time, his strikes-to-balls ratio was better (50 Strikes, 28 Balls.)

Perhaps so he doesn't hit whatever his innings limit is before a call up?

That's definitely gotta be it, and I'm sure Gausman is aware of that. I'd like to see him come up before 8/31 just so we can see how he looks (to potentially put on the playoff roster)

I read that they are keeping his innings low to bring him back at the end of the year...might have been Steve M. who reported that.
