Brian if you are feeling guilty for stealing 40 million dollars.... give generously to your favorite charity!!!

His name is an anagram for "Train Robbers".......did I just blow your mind or what!

(in case it's unclear, I'm being sarcastic......as much as I dislike how this contract has played out, I wouldn't call him a thief)

The Orioles have treaded water(and won) with Flaherty and Casilla for some of the season.

If neither continues to hit after two weeks they need to start thinking outside the box. Yes, Navarro would be a consideration, and Schoop too.

Really.

We were also 86-59 (.593) in the 145 games that Roberts didn't play last season. We tread 127 games of water with Andino and his .588 OPS as well. This is an area that needs improvement, but not nearly as critical as others. I know Duquette values Casilla's defense.

Well actually I think I would really have trouble accepting 40 million dollars for no ouput considering:

1. PED's abuse aided in creating performance that led to contract.

2. Concussion which caused lost time was self induced.

I'm not sure how much this bothers Brian, but I'd like to think there are honorable people (maybe me) that would return a large portion of his contract to a good cause. I mean he has done nothing for 4 years and 40 million dollars... even Albert Belle provided some value.

I think it's time we cut bait with Casilla and platoon both Flaherty and Navarro. 60 day Roberts.

Oddly enough about Navarro, he appears to be hitting righties better than lefties. Similar to last year in AAA for him as well. I wonder if that's playing in to the decision to keep Flaherty up here.

I wonder how much longer Flaherty will get to start hitting.

Yamaico's numbers in AAA:

309/388/464 - 852 OPS

He's walked 14 times in 116 plate appearances. Only struck out 18 times. Down in the minors, he's traditionally been 70 points higher in OBP than AVG.

Only 25 years old. Seems to have some solid pop in his bat.

Why are you putting Robers on the 60 day DL? Players can only be moved to the 60 day if a spot on the 40 man roster needs to be created

And last time I checked, Casilla was doing decent against LHP.

I am sorry but anyone that thinks we can count on Brian Roberts for something other than a backup role is crazy. I think many posters said just that this past offseason and were surprised that Castilla was the big answer.

Bring up Schoop in a month if he is still progressing. If not, gotta make a trade.

But this fascination with him is laughable. He is a shell of his former self. Steroids break down your body. This is a medical fact. Do I think he is a bad guy? Of course not, but we all have to pay for bad decisions in our lives.

I just expect Brian Roberts to be hurt, so it's not disappointing at all.

However- Did the "JJ Hardy gets a shot in his elbow" line at the end of Roch's post set off anyone else's Spidey Sense?

Has anyone seen games with Navarro at 2b? He had 2 errors the other night and looked awful. Are his career fielding percentages okay?
I've seen him at short, second and third. He is nowhere as good at second as Ryan Flaherty has become.

He has had issues with it before.

I am not worried but I do wish Buck would give him the occasional day off.
