I'm drawing the line now.

What reason do we have to start Flaherty over Casilla? Casilla is just as good with the glove but better with the bat, and quicker on the bases too.

What reason do we have to keep Flaherty over Navarro? Navarro is hitting well at AAA and is already on the 40 man roster. He pretty much can't possibly be worse than Flaherty has so far.

I haven't run out of faith for Flaherty's future success, but he clearly needs some time to figure out his approach at the plate and he is hurting us badly in the lineup.

Flaherty struck out once and swung at the first pitch in his two other at bats. Five pitches over three at bats. That's terrible and not Major League quality. He needs to settle down, change his approach and be more patient at the plate.

Im pretty sure Flaherty will not be ran out there too much longer. He has looked lost at the plate since game 1. Give me back Andino even.

The O's paid their dues last year keeping him on the roster but now let him continue to develop....at AAA. This has got to hang heavy on not just Flaherty, but the team as a whole. The man has options, use them.

Wow, that is unbelievably bad. His defense has been very good, but .385 OPS is about 200 points below what you can carry over the long term.

I'm drawing the line at May 31.

Why wait that long? It's criminal that Navarro isn't up yet.

Navarro hasn't been super reliable in the field. We know Buck loves defense, and Flaherty gives him that. As long as the rest of the team is hitting like they are, his leash remains long.

I can guarantee you that Showalter and Duquette have the conversation daily about what to do with Flaherty, and if they are not talking that its something Showalter is thinking about. They already have a deadline, they already have a planned replacement, and they probably already have a plan C as well.

The team is winning right now. There is no need to upset the chemistry. If they think he can handle it, then they will continue to let him learn the hard way.

Darwin Barney was the fielding Bible's top 2B last year. his DP % was .769. Flaherty's this year is .808. How many key DP's have we turned the past few games? I think that has to be on Buck's mind. Yeah it's pretty obvious Flaherty is horrible at the plate. But it is also obvious to me at least, that Buck is a really smart baseball guy, and if he thought that Flaherty was killing our 5 R per game offense, he would make a change.

I think it's time to give Navarro a shot. We kept Flaherty all last year and now we have the ability to option him to Norfolk without losing him. We should take advantage of that. I'm not ready to give up on Flaherty but he had little experience at AAA before last season, and the fact that there are a lot of junkball pitchers at AAA will give Flaherty plenty of opportunity to work on hitting breaking and offspeed pitches.
