Personally, I’m tired of the whole game of assigning numbers to starting pitchers. No two people seem to agree on what these numbers mean, and MANY people have a very unrealistic idea of what the third best starter on most teams (including most playoff teams) really looks like. We’re in a world now where only 56 pitchers in MLB have thrown enough innings to qualify for the ERA title. Only 55 pitchers have thrown 400 innings over the last three seasons combined. -
