A player must have a scholarship to a four-year school to qualify for the MLB scholarship program. Unless Hader negotiated that into his contract, he only had a commitment to Anne Arundel community College so he would not have automatically qualified.

I heard from a pretty good source that Walsh was definitely going to college and from all indications, that's a probably best for everyone.

The kid can play and no one thought a standard slot deal would make him pass on college ball. Rumors around town that head scout for O's saw him play after draft so they might try to get him over slot if they have $ left. If not hopefully in 3 years.

Was drafted by the Rangers in the 39th round after his junior year, but wisely choose to finish school. Slashed .273/.333/.478/.811 with a 75 K to 15 BB ratio. Could be a senior sign or late round draft pick again next year.
