I predict Arrieta dominates through three, implodes in the 4th, can't make it out of the 5th. In other words, a typical start for him.

About 3 starts ago there was talk that Jake had a tender shoulder, but he didn't miss any starts that I know of. Could be something going on there. If he gets bombed I wouldn't be shocked to see talk of the shoulder cropping up.

According to WebMD, shoulder soreness/stiffness is often a side effect of one's throwing arm attempting to leap free of the rest of the body in order to escape the stigma that comes with continued attachment.

Actually, I might've heard that on the Simpsons.

Either way, I am now convinced of my complete inability to say anything about Arrieta that could truly be called "objective." It'd be great if he does something (over the course of many starts) that makes me shut up about how awful he is (apart from launching fastballs into the stands), but my confidence level is nonexistent at this point.

I'm hoping Arrieta keeps it together for 5 innings. Buck should have a long man ready to throw multiple innings in case Arrieta implodes. Strop, here's your chance. On the pregame show, they said Scherzer has thrown 7 innings in 9 starts this year, the O's as a team have only thrown 7 innings 7 times.

What's your prediction for this game? Pain!

Haha I forgot about this one sitting in my library.

It just seems to fit when talking about the cavalry doesn't it?

Except that a very large number of stars, maybe most of them visible to us, are within several millions of light years.

The lifespan of a star is measured in billions of years, so most stars you see are still happily chugging along despite the fact the light we're seeing is from millions of years ago. There are plenty of nearby stars whose light is reaching us in only a handful of years.

Maybe the cavalry still has a shot after all.

But not Jake.
