The Strop experiment needs to end...

I think those that are going to blame Russell don't understand the dynamics of the communication within the coaching staff.

Obviously after Strop's last outing, the coaching staff tossed out the question: "so is Strop ready for high pressure situations again or is he still relegated to mop up duty". By bringing out Strop tonight, I think it's clear that the coaching staff as a group decided that Strop was ready for the situation (and quite possibly had been told so). I don't think Buck would have handled it any differently had he been in the dugout.

Pedro cost us the sweep against the Angels. He probably has cost us other games before too.

But tonight was on Tommy Hunter.

Face it, the better team won today. We're going to get swept and Toronto is winning the division this year. Starting tonight...

Does anyone think it was Russell's call not Buck's?

Asked the question in another thread. Would you rather have Valverde or Strop? Not trying to jump all over Pedro cause I'm very sympathetic for the guy. He's trying. But baseball-wise, I think I'd take Valverde even knowing that he's essentially a righty specialist at this point.

I would pitch Davis in a game before I'd pitch Strop.

Seriously.

The goal is to win. Putting Strop there increased the likelihood of losing the game. Jim Johnson for one batter then the bottom of the 10th. JJ gives us the best chance of winning.

Isn't that the goal?

MSK

Sure but the games over.

Pretty sure it is beyond our ability to have an effect on the outcome now.

And yes I would have used JJ there.
