Irvin is a fringe pitcher on a playoff team. Use him as long relief and shuttle him if need be. -
I understand each of these two paragraphs, but I have no idea how they are related to each other. LOL. -
I also thought Ben McD did a nice job of pointing out the mess Irvin was in re the inside part of the plate and missing Adley’s target over and over last night. Really highlighted the issue without being overly critical, a fine line to walk.

Big fingers crossed for Bradish tonight. Here's hoping he gets his 40-50 pitches and comes out feeling fine. -
Everyone seems to assume Irvin goes to the pen, but what are the chances that he and Means simply swap places when Means is ready? Would it not be more valuable to keep Irvin ready on a starters work load in case of need, for Means or anyone else? It kinda worked last year and I’m not certain Irvin is the kind of pitcher who’s stuff plays up in the pen.

Overall, O’Hearn was a very slick pickup. Getting him to agree to the $3 million team option for 2025 was a slick move as well. He probably shouldn’t play RF, but stuff happens over a long season and we may see that again. I think the bad feelings of the Crush Davis contract rubbed off a little on O’Hearn. Just similar looking players. He’s not blocking Kjerstad. Kjerstad is our Santa replacement. Stowers is just being blocked because he’s LH and he’s behind the other LH hitting OF types in the MLB. -

I agree with the frustration with Cole Irvin pitch selection and location. His misses are to the middle of the zone vertically. There have been so many LHP with less stuff and had way more success . I am not sure what the Orioles are saying to him but I would revert back to 3-4 pitches he can locate. Constantly working on the 4 points of the strike zone. I don’t know how you can watch someone like Craig Kimbrel and not learn from that. Wait he keeps the ball down most the time and every pitch is tight.
