Being right-handed definitely gives Hoes an advantage over Henry in getting called up this season to replace Reimold. If it was me, Valencia would never have gone back down, and Reimold would never have come back up.

Too early for Urrutia. I doubt he comes up until August.
See the comment above...If he were 22, then I would agree with you, but please explain why a 26 year old who has hit well all season long in both AA and AAA (well decent, but has been climbing and is on his way to fully adjusted) shouldn't be given a chance when we are allowing Reimold to hit .197 with 4 HR and 9 RBI in nearly 40 games from our DH spot at the age of 29?

Urrutia would undoubtedly be able to at the very least be a wash at .197 BA, but is there anyone here who doesn't believe that he would be much better than that?

Giving Urrutia the rest of July at AAA seems like you are prescribing him with a treatment that seems more suited for Reimold than Urrutia...

He's 26 folks, it's time to see what he can do with the big boys, because the next three years are supposed to be the prime of his career...assuming he actually is 26...if he's older, we're likely wasting the only good years he has left...

If you ask me, anyone over the age of 24, maybe 25, should be able to make the MLB roster, or at least tested when the opportunity arises, because if they can't do better than what we're currently getting from Reimold, then they probably should be traded to someone else who believes they can turn things around for him...

Yes, I don't get the thinking either with Reimold or Roberts. They both are taking up roster spots and provide little offensively. Urrutia would have been here already if we had as bad a first half as the Dodgers did, but our offense has struggled recently and Reimold nor Roberts should have been recalled. Urrutia will easily surpass what Reimold is providing and there is no reason to wait when is 26 years old. Get him up and see what he can do.

They say Urrutia is down in the minors still because he needs to work on his fielding. If that is true why isn't Reimold in the minors working on his fielding.

Here's why:

Showalter said Urrutia has sharpened his defense and benefited from outfielder Nolan Reimold's rehab assignment in Bowie. The Baysox staff used plays Reimold had made in left field as an example for Urrutia in right.

I'd guess Urrutia must have had a long way to go as a defender if the staff was using Reimold's plays as an example of how Urrutia should be fielding.

I think Reimold's deficiencies are more with his instincts than his technique and he's not nearly as bad as people make it out. DRS says he's about average in LF and I'm inclined think that's closer to the truth than UZR.

Henry has 48 at bats at AAA. He has no homers and 4 RBI. That is not enough at bats to prove he can be prductive at AAA much less the majors. Yes he did well at AA but there are better breaking pitches to conquer at AAA. Give the guy a few more weeks to adjust.

Fielding does not matter if he is coming up to DH.
