Roberts or no Roberts an Oriole pitcher is probably better trading groundballs to our IF than Flyballs to our OF.

When I get a minute I'm going to run some back-of-the-napkin calculations on out rates on flyballs, groundballs, home run rates on flyballs, and then play around with different distributions. And also run a little correlation between GB rate and ERA/FIP. My gut feeling is that the emphasis on groundballs and finding groundball pitchers may be overstated compared to the evidence.
