vs. Mariners 8/3

So this game is awful so far. Have seats 18 rows behind home. Worst seats I've ever sat in. We have approximately 1 foot in between the edge of the seat and the chair in front. Plus, have to angle to the right because the cupholder takes up even more space to the point were I have a permanent indent from my leg pressing up against it. So so cramped in here in relatively expensive seats.

Of course I would look past all that if Oriole pitchers actually remembered that the home run derby was last month. Have to complain about something else in the meantime.

What a stupid rip-off.

We have off on Monday and Thursday next week. Johnson will go down for Roberts, so you might as well use him. The bullpen can cover whatever needs to be covered tomorrow if Chen is knocked out early.

They can but it would still be nice to have SJ as an option tomorrow.

We have off Monday and Thursday. Plus Johnson goes down for Roberts, so might as well use him before Roberts is activated. That is why I was surprised Johnson wasn't used first tonight.

Buck wanted to play match-up against the heavily LH lineup.

That's why I think it's likely that TJ is in Norfolk. Britton may end up being the longman because of his lack of options.

I agree about TJ, I would be very surprised he makes the team out of camp next year unless their are injuries.

Red Sux take the lead.. so much for the ground we made up last night.

Boy, our offense goes to sleep against these no nothing pitchers. Horrible.

Brandon Snyder with big hit to help Sox take lead. Man, every player they touch produces somehow.

    • I think it’s like when our fans are terrified because a team brings up a spot starter from AAA and we fear they are going to turn into Cy Young.
    • “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.” — A Bartlett Giamatti https://mason.gmu.edu/~rmatz/giamatti.html

By any measure, Cowser is leading AL rookies in WAR, and it’s not that close. “

    • Every year at the end of the season, I feel a little melancholy. For me, the end of summer is not the start of school or the arrival of fall, but the end of baseball season. Today is the last day of a long song, and I will miss it. I know we have at least four more days, but those are in a different category, although I will miss that too when it ends. During the darkest days of the season, I posted frequently that the worst day of baseball is still baseball. When the Os played terrible, I would go focus on the Brewers or the A’s or Mariners(who were almost as frustrating as the Os) and follow along with former Orioles, rooting for all of them. That will all stop by tonight, and I will miss it until next February, when pitchers and catchers report. If I’m still here, I’ll be here.    Go Os…
    • We have to wait and see. But it shouldn’t matter as you have to beat whomever you play.
