Good to see Ayala again...I liked him.

He made a mistake not getting Gonzalez at 3B for the lead out and then had to walk the next hitter(Schumaker) to whom they would have rather pitched.

He did come back and get two big K's. Of course it helps one of them was Kershaw.

1st bad managing move of this series. Mattingly elects to load the bases with two outs walking Reed Johnson to get to Heyward on the L/L matchup with Paco Rodriguez.

Scully remarked that Heyward was 0-2 this year with the bases loaded because he could find no other reason that Mattingly was think of to pitch to him instead of Johnson.

4-1 Braves now.

I'm amazed that the Braves went with Elliot Johnson as their only 2nd baseman. Ugla is Ugla, but he will hit the occasional homer and work the count. Johnson's played very poorly so far - both in the field and at bat - likely feeling the pressure. But aside from Elliot Johnson and Reed Johnson, they have Chris Johnson, and his effect on the team has been enormous - not only leading the league in batting average most of the season but hitting so well in key situations - as he's done in both playoff games.

The Braves aren't where they are without Chris Johnson and Evan Gattis. Without them, they're no better than the O's - though the Braves pen is exceptional. If the O's can find 2 guys like that for next to nothing, they'll likely be in the playoffs next year. Or get a Puig - he is worth the price of admission. Easier said than done.

Crawford with a 3 run jack. This series is going to be fun.

By the way, I am cheap and stubborn so I don't get cable....and the fact that the bullk of the playoffs are only available on TBS symbolizes the decline of American society to me. So I watch the raw feed provided on MLB TV....which is a strange but not altogether uninteresting way to watch a game.
