Enlighten us Please Sir!

Their contract extensions were negotiated simultaneously with full awareness of all parties that the ride would be secure until 2019. Buck gets to decide who to play and when to play them. Dan does not check with ANYONE before making a move he chooses to make. Within his budget.

Both Dan and Buck talk about opportunities and directions all the time.

Now the reports are saying that JJ is on the trading block, aggressively being pushed to the Dodgers.

If DD can flip JJ, open up some salary, make that heavily-speculated trade of Matt W. to the Cubs for pitching and find a solid C for the Os, I would be happy if that salary relief from JJ and potential salary relief from Matt's impending free agency would be put toward a solid DH.

I really want to be surprised this year.

MSK

The most important part of that report imo, is the Orioles reportedly trying to shed JJ's salary so they can pursue a FA. Basically all but revealing a $100M cap on the team imposed by Angelos.

Do you remember when Buck was reprimanded by Dan for his unauthorized interview about the Wieters negotiation and how AROD was going to help the Yankees obtain Matt Wieters?

Right, you don't.
