Notice how Ken Rosenthat said that we are the ones desperately trying to trade Johnson' date=' not the other way around. The biggest thing we will get out of this deal is financial relief; that's why we are trading him. Don't expect a great haul in return. This isn't MacPhail doing this trade.[/quote']

Throw in the fact, that Steve Adams said JJ would likely be setup man for them and not the closer. IF Acquired.

I'd do JJ for Ethier and cash.

Then sign Garza and chill........

If we did this deal, I would then look to pick-up Rajai Davis to relieve Markakis or Ethier on the days a LHP is on the mound and I would look to add Garrett Jones as a platoon partner to Valencia at DH. I'd also like an Edward Mujica type to help at the closer position and then would sign a starter, though I'd prefer Jimenez to Garza.

I answered that question in a previous post. I wanted Ken to confirm it so I didn't get blasted on here, but you have already blasted me.

I posted all of our GGs, Silver Sluggers, the MVP voting, and the Kazmir deal

Take if offline if you have you, but don't junk up the thread with this.

Why do you care? Just don't read his posts if you don't believe him.

Edit: Sorry Tony, didn't mean to add to the derailing.

Kenley Jansen has done a great job as their closer. Prior to his success last season, they were hesitant to put him in that role. I recall hearing that the Dodgers thought that he didn't have the stuff mentally to close. Perhaps last season's success changed their opinion. Or maybe it hasn't, and they are indeed looking for another closer.

I expect to get back two minor leaguers with huge potential' date=' but not needing protection on the 40 man, with several options left and maybe some cash.[/quote']

That and freeing up 10m now will the owner spend it?
