Schmuck: Angelos back in Warehouse and in Duquette's old office!

It will be embarrassing if they make a splash, the new guy bombs and someone we already had on the roster takes over by the all star break.

That won't be embarrasing, because at least they tried. So far this offseason is like they don't even care. I thought winning would fix this attitude? What did winning do for us? Nothing so far. After 15 years this is the ultimate insult to the fans.

I might have to be on the wagon that says no walking around the harbor this year spending money on hotels and Orioles tickets.

Obviously we have different thresholds for embarrassment.

The Sun columnist Peter Schmuck is back on the attack again today as he reports that Angelos has had the top floor of the warehouse reconfigured and took over Dan Duquette's office. He then goes on to say that the Jim Johnson trade has Angelos' fingerprints all over it since Duquette said a few months ago that Johnson was part of the core Orioles players.

"There have been indications for months that Angelos and his sons have become more involved in the day-to-day operation of the team. The upper office at the Warehouse was reconfigured recently to include an office for Angelos, which just happens to be the one that used to be inhabited by Duquette."

What are you thoughts on this development? Is Angelos meddling again?

All this came up because of JJ trade/salary dump. If the O's had gotten a good

player back like say Kemp or Ethier then I don't think this would even come up.

Because of what came about could this be more like a witch hunt. Look I don't

like Angelos for an owner. But I have seen more anger over this and the state of

the O's than I have before. Or so it seems. I just want to wait and see what

happens. IMO. Sorry Tony

He said in a telephone interview on Thurday afternoon that he had nothing to do with that specific decision and that the makeup of the Orioles roster is entirely the jurisdiction of Duquette and manager Buck Showalter.

"That decision is up to the manager and general manager," Angelos said. "Do we talk about economic decisions? Overall, yes, but not specifically about individual moves. Fundamentally, those decisions are their decisions."

Unless Vlad is looking for work.
