Schmuck: Angelos back in Warehouse and in Duquette's old office!

Looks like Peter got a call from Angelos and decided to change his tune a bit. It also appears the headline was switched around. He should have asked him about the office. ;) Wonder if that means Schmuck will back off now. It will be interesting to watch how this shakes out and if Schmuck, who has been the only Baltimore-based main-stream media member to question Angelos, will now change his tune.

There is no question this is the case. Nothing to see here.

Wrong answer..

83.5% saved, and was the leading AL closer.

He wasn't perfect and lights out.

But, to say he was awful is fair either.

Those saves were bogus. He came into games with three run leads and no one on base. Of course most pitchers would convert those saves. In one run games he was awful. Save stat is the most meaningless stat in professional sports. He was awful last season with the game on the line.

.

What's interesting to me is that Angelos responded.

You do realize that the Yankees TV deal dwarfs the Orioles and the Yankees ticket prices are insanely high? Anyway the whole article is nonsense anyway. Unless he has an insider stating that Angelos told DD to get rid of Jim Johnson than it is pure fairy tale. I still don't see why anyone is upset about the Johnson trade. He was awful last year. Everyone on here wasn't calling for him to be taken out of the closer role.

You're kidding!!!!!!! Enlighten me.

I assumed most would pickup on the "limited market" part of that quote, but I guess not.

Well he made something up out of thin air and the guy he accused of doing something which had no basis in any sort of fact or rumor denied doing it. He should change his tune. If he wants to state something based on fact he could have stated that Angelos is just pocketing the MASN cash and not using it on players. But to basically make something up doesn't belong in a serious newspaper.

Some would argue the Sun is far from a serious paper. Always has been and probably always will be.

Scrooge is back for the holidays!

Peter: sell the team. You obviously don't care and you have made a killing and destroyed our proud franchises reputation, it is time to move on...we are tired of constantly wondering what you are involved in and what you aren't involved in. You have made us all paranoid and skeptical.

Sell the team to Mr. Bisciotti.

Okay, no problem. Yes, he lead the lead in blown saves, but that doesn't make him "AWFUL"

Awful is 1-6, ERA pushing 9.00 or above.

I am guessing you were mad about Mark Reynolds being let go as well. You can't overpay for bad players. I don't understand how anyone thinks Jim Johnson is worth 10+ million blowing game after game.

I doubt that Angelos specifically told anybody to get rid of JJ. But I am positive that Angelos gave DD a budget where paying JJ $10 million was impossible. So they're both right.

Well that is good. If you have a budget that allows you to pay awful closers 10 million I would rather they just lower ticket prices and the cost of beer.

The Sun columnist Peter Schmuck is back on the attack again today as he reports that Angelos has had the top floor of the warehouse reconfigured and took over Dan Duquette's office. He then goes on to say that the Jim Johnson trade has Angelos' fingerprints all over it since Duquette said a few months ago that Johnson was part of the core Orioles players.

"There have been indications for months that Angelos and his sons have become more involved in the day-to-day operation of the team. The upper office at the Warehouse was reconfigured recently to include an office for Angelos, which just happens to be the one that used to be inhabited by Duquette."

What are you thoughts on this development? Is Angelos meddling again?

Too bad no one saved the previous version before he was spoken to from the Law Offices.
