Tanaka is a no go then

Wait. What? Why not? That is the system. Clubs pay cash to each other all the time in exchange for players. Why put ourselves at a disadvantage over something like that? When the posting fee was a no-linit bidding free-for-all, maybe I could see this point of view, but with a $20 million limit, what are we thinking? I normally am pretty much with DD on things he says, but not here.

Ethier is a platoon player with a large contract ?

Ethier will have a considerable amount of his contract covered by the Dodgers. If you could get Ethier for about 10 million a year AAV, that is a hell of a lot better contract than the one we will stop paying Markakis after this year. Ethier is a lot better player, and he would be about 1/3rd cheaper at that rate. Andre Ethier in LF this season would make us a good deal better than we are right now.
