For me, I was fired up most when Buck pitched JJ those 3 games in Arizona. It was insanity. But Buck has literally saved us from full blown Angelos so we forgive....

People aren't giving up really, just frustrated and threatening it makes us feel better.

Just because you don't believe with a rule doesn't mean you shouldn't use it if it exists. Any GM would use all the rules at their disposal to make the team better. This has Angelos all over it. I know he has been getting a lot of flack recently but GMs won't artificially restrict the tools at their disposal. This might as well be a billboard to any industry people telling them he is handcuffed by his owner.

I'll never swit h teams. But as of right now, I can see a lot of switching channels come summer. I hope DD has something brewing.

This quote bothers me, because it sounds like Peguero will be an OD, 25-man player. I thought he was a reasonable depth acquisition, but nobody's getting excited about a 25-year-old corner OF who just hit .762 in the PCL. If we're gonna play a bad ballplayer with "tools" in LF next season, I'd rather have seen Xavier Avery (yes, really) who's young enough to still have a chance of getting better.

To make it worse, Peguero wouldn't even have been a horrible platoon partner for McLouth, since his minor league split (vsRHP/vsLHP) is .724/.780.

Also, Peguero's "tools" apparently do not include any power whatsoever: he managed a whopping .092 ISO last season in the PCL.

Also, I don't understand the philosophical opposition to the posting system. Why is it bad to give another ballclub money for a player? Apparently, "the Orioles" would have balked at acquiring Babe Ruth for $125,000.

I suspect the difference is it's sort of like paying a free agent's previous team in addition to paying the free agent.

If true then he doesn't have any conception of draft pick compensation.
